I want to have only cell phone and wonder whether cancelling lan line service will affect my DSL

No. But if you ditch the land line, then the DSL vendor may charge you extra. I use Speakeasy.net for DSL service and I DO NOT have a landline phone - Speakeasy charges me an extra $6/month for what they call "onelink" service.

Yes, you have to have landline service in order to get standard DSL. Some companies offer wireless DSL, but it can be more expensive.

If you cancel your landline your DSL will have to go as well.
