Most rich countries DO help poor countries. One major problem are the goverments of the poor countries are so corrupt that the food and medicine we send end up being SOLD instead of given as it's supposed to be. Often it is sold on the Black Market with full knowledge or cooperation from corrupt government officials.

Do we stop trying under those conditions or do we keep doing what we can to help? It's not an easy answer. If the US and other rich countries stopped giving, many small countries would colapse into anarchy.

Developed countries are facing their own problems right now. Can you imagine what it is like to be a poor person in this country, being denied basic necessities, while hearing about help going to other countries? Not pleasant. We need to help our own country first, and right now we are not living up to that priority.
Who do you think is more important, your family or the neighbors? Wouldn't you think it is right to help your family and friends first, and the neighbors only after you helped your family and friends? What if your family needed help and your other family member or friends wouldn't help?
