I use Lip Fusion lip plumper which is available at Sephora. The results can last up to 48 hrs. I've noticed a difference since I've been using it. I now have more defined lips that are fuller. I use it at night before I go to sleep and in the morning my lips look healthy. I've only used the clear. I do know it comes in colors so you can wear it as a lip color. It doesn't sting or burn as some of the other lip plumpers can. I do feel a warm sensation but nothing that's irritating. I've been using it for over a year now and I now use it 2-3 times a week. When I first started I used it every other night and within 1 week I could see a difference.
I would have your friend give it a try. If she's near a Sephora store she can go in a try before she gets it plus she can look at the other lip plumpers they carry.
If not she can go on line an get it. I know they have a liberal return policy.

Hi. A few months ago, I bought Sephora Plumping Lip Gloss in red. I sampled some at the store and only felt a little tingling. It worked and looked great, so I bought one. I used it every day, for about 3 days. I thought the more I used it, I would eventually get used to the tingling. A friend of mine bought some other brand of plumping lip gloss, and told me that eventually the tingling sensation wouldn't be noticeable anymore.

Well... After 3 days, the tingling got worse, to the point it was burning even after I wiped it completely off. Then, my lips REALLY swelled - it looked twice as big as Angelina Jolie's lips. They were so swollen that it affected they way I talked! My lips were so tight from the swelling, that even smiling would crack/split my lips.

On top of the extensive swelling, and affected speech, my lips were EXTREMELY dry and chapped.

Afraid of getting this reaction again, I threw away the plumping lip gloss (if I had kept my receipt, I could have refunded my money spent at Sephora), and any lip pencil, lip brush, etc. that got in contact with this plumping lip gloss.

To get rid of the horrible dry lips, I used Murad Soothing Lip Therapy. After a week of only applying Murad Soothing Lip Therapy on my lips, my lips got back to normal.

I couldn't believe what a horrible, yet delayed, allergic reaction I had to that stuff. My friend has no problems with lip plumping glosses, and she says they keep her lips moisturized and in good condition. However, I will never touch the stuff again. Beware!

I swear by City Lips. This takes about a month to get the full effect and is very moisturizing. This is one product I can't live without.

Yes. They do work. Try the ones from bath& body works, or from victoria's secret.
