Not gonna get too deep on you, but you do need your GED for just about any job--even entry level. I admire your desire to work with animals, good luck and keep reaching for your goals.

Good for you that you're going back to school. It's the right thing to do. While you are working at your studies, try volunteering with the Humane Society or other animal shelters and organizations in your area. You will get great experience this way and can also make some good connections in your future field that could eventually result in a job. Good luck!

You can probably go to your local community college, sit down with a counselor and express your desires. You will have to probably take your GED. From there see where the nearest vet tech course is offered. Some are offered online. Meantime volunteer at your local animal shelter or join your local humane society. If you have a petsmart store in your area, maybe apply there. OR, start your own dog sitting service. Offer to take the elderly's pets for walks, bathe them, etc.

Try and animal shelter. Sometimes you can get started cleaning cages. You have to be strong willed to work there. They are cute and some don't make it to a home. It is a start to see if you can take it. Maybe a vets office cleaning cages on weekends. Or do some pet sitting when people go on vacation. Walk their dogs or visit their cats feed their fish. Become a dog walker.

Be an adult and get your GED. I wouldn't want you touching my animal if you aren't even grown up enough to take care of yourself
