I was wondering because I know that monkys have 44 chromosomes and they are just 2 chromosomes short from human.

Great question, Sassy! ( And, I'd just like to add that You're a Gorgeous Woman! Wooow!!! )

You "would" think that apes & gorillas could reproduce simple voice words...but, they cannot. However, they do understand human words & visual symbols...They certainly understand the meaning of various vocal sounds between one another...Maybe the missing 2 chromosomes are essential for speech? )

Birds that "talk" are just imitating/mimicking phrases that are repeated to them over-and-over again.

I think it is the shape of there tongs that let the birds mimic sounds better than other animals but i had a cat that would say bolow every time the can opener was used cause we asked him every time we fed him if he wanted some. Also I think this cause there use to be a man who had pet crow and its tong was slit and it let him be able to talk.

birds don't talk, they mimic SOUND! animals may have a way of communicating with themselves, but sorry....no human speech.
