It's not just the politicians that are corrupt, everyone has the potential in them to be corrupt...... police officers, judges, lawyers, psychologists, your family, your friends.....People are corrupted in this world, that is just a fact of life....It's not just he politicians, it's the people in your own backyard sometimes as well! We just tend to focus on the ones who have money, power, influence, celebrity status - so to speak - and we always hear and see those people, before we ever tend to look at all the others - smaller statused people around us.... .... Politicians can be corrupt - some - but not all !!!- That is just the gamble of the human race - to be or not to be......that is the question......and only the ones who know can answer for themselves.....
Why stress on the negative elements in people when you can turn your attenton to the good....give your support to those you feel are honest and true, that too is a gamble, but only yours to take...you never know which way it will turn out until you get there, and you just hope you have put your faith in the right person, if not, then we learn a little form the experience and take it with us to use for the next one....

This question is so deep that this forum does not do justice to its origins.
I must first ask what type of "Indian" we are speaking of...Native American or are you actually from India?
In either case there are such striking parallels that you have to shake your head at their coincedences.
I will keep my opinion short...hopefully.
First, look at the word politics. The first four letters form the word "poli" which means many, and the last four letters "tics" are a blood sucking, disgusting, insect that make everyone sick to their stomachs because they suck the blood straight from your body.
That aside, if you are an "American Indian" you are already a threat to a fat politician because they know you were forced from your homeland. Today that would never happen, but if you press the issue they know you would be in the right in today's court.
Politicians are fat, happy, and they call themselves "American"
because they dictate what is right and what is wrong. But, they have to sustain themselves because they have to come from something rotten. If a man decided to become a polictician they would find life so easy. It makes them corrupt. Why go back to a normal job when they can sit on their *** and make you miserable...while taking your money.

Sorry no short answer for this one. I think that it comes down to a long process that starts off with being told as a child that they could do no wrong . Then you have people who turn there heads the other way when they are doing wrong.Like teachers,professors, and those who are so blind that they just follow along blindly. By this time they are running for office and once in office there are all sorts of people throwing money,wine, women/men at them . So after a few years politicians forget that they work for us the voting population. We the people who need to feed our children, care for the generation that went before us, medical treatments that do not come down to do I eat this week or do I buy medication that will keep me alive. If you have not seen Animal Farm I highly suggest that you watch it. It explains a lot.

Because they need the money for the next elections, there are a lot of them that's why politicians who doesn't have corruptions in his mind doesn't hesitate to do so or become attracted to the activity because his colleagues do the same.

They are making us fool in the name of democracy in front of well educated bureaucrats, industrialists and judiciary.They make law for their benefits only and not for us. To prove all ones wrong acts as right one has to be corrupted.
