lithium has been used as a mood changing drug, xanax is an anti-anxiety, and effexor is an anti-depressant. i would consult your doctor, or ask a pharmacist, i am in pharmacy school, and i am pretty sure that in long term studies, that patients taking both xanax and effexor, were no longer depressed, and the like, and were now diagnosed with demensia. and yes lithium is prescribed to "enhance" effexor's effects.

From what I have read, lithium is used as a booster for Effexor. I would discuss with my doctor about a change in medication.

But, heck, isn't mania fun??!! Look, lithium, wow, that is powerful stuff. Watch out for osteoporosis and an inability to keep your drool in your mouth. Effexor, yikes, I hope your husband doesn't like sex. Though it must be great for him while your in your mania.... oops, got off track. Ummm, not sure, but be careful, and go see your chiropractor. Your nervous system really seems out of whack, and that's what chiropractors do best, allow the nervous system to function like it is supposed to.
