I have a Bachelor of Science in zoology and work as a wildlife biologist. At my school the Biology major and the Zoology major only differed by a few classes. Biology is a more general major and job prospects may be better. It really depends on what you are most interested in...both majors will allow you to specialized once you get into upper division classes..you get to pick which ones you want to take so can concentrate on what you are most interested in. I specialize in ornithology (study of birds) and have had no problems getting jobs. I currently work for a non-profit and we do a lot of studying of local endangered birds. If you are interested in birds it is a good option as birds are found all over the world and you can study them ANYWHERE! Good Luck.

well, I have a zoology degree and so far have been doing quite well for myself. I chose zoology as a major simply because I wanted to study insects and this program had the best entomology department around. There are also other programs like wildlife biology which kinda incorporate both biology and zoology. I guess it all comes down to what you see yourself dong in the future. I plan on studying invasive insect species in the deciduous forests or southern Canada and N. US so Entomology was my calling and zoology had it goin on. I worked with several government agencies, I was making 25$/hour as an undergrad! The government pays these positions very well.

You can get into vet school with either of those majors. It depends on what interests you more..if you think you may want to work with wildlife go for zoology otherwise a biology major is fine.

If you are planning on stopping after getting your bachelors, I would go with a degree in biology, as it is more general and you can have more job options. However, if you plan on furthering your education, it won't really matter what your BA is in. It will be your advanced degree that will get you the good jobs (this is a good place to focus on zoology, if you would like).

Do biology, study zoology in spare time as a pastime. To study zoology would be quite simple if you know biology, as there is no vast difference in fundamentals, except that the biology deals with human beings and the zoology with the animals..

I loved biology! I took lots of varied courses to get an idea of the "big picture". I learned a lot about the interconnectiveness between all living and non-living things. Besides, taking biology gives you room to change your mind, and if you're still passionate about zoology after your BSc, you can always specialize after.

I would honestly do a BA in Botany. This is the best way to do things. I a botnist with a zoology minor. This has helped me out the best.

Double major. If you like both, do both, that is the best option. You can do it! Good luck! I doubled majored my BS degree and my Masters degree is what I desired the most after that...very nice to have multiple options and degrees. Peace.
