because that's the way our generation works. we become obsessed with the online world. we meet new people, and when we can't talk to them anymore, we get upset.

I personally cannot go a day without a computer near me.
I am attached to it.

It would take a gun to my head to withdraw me from it. really.
that's the way it is with most people nowadays.

now we have myspace, xanga, mycrib, EVERYTHING FOR GOODNESS SAKES.

IMing has taken over phone calls.

People sit on their butts all day and do nothing but check to see if someone left them myspace comments. (I'm one of them)
so yeah.

Technology has become part of our world today. And with that comes online buddies. Online friends give us the satisfaction of having someone to talk with and someone to listen to you without the hassle of real 'relationships'. Meaning, you don't have to be able to see the person and judgement on the person's character would come not from the face but from what he/she is able to say.

We also become attached because most of the time, it bridges the gaps between different worlds. As long as there are stories to come, online friends would be here to stay.

We become so attached to our online friends because our imaginations can take flight when picturing who this person is. You have the ability to create a fictional personality that you want in the friend and then believe in it.

You are so attached to an online friend because of many reasons. For one thing, it is much easier to talk to some one withput talking, if you know what I mean. You can say anything to them with out you being judged by them. Also, you will most likely never see them in person, so you will not have to be embarassed of what you said. This might not make alot of sense to you, but if you just, mabye, USE YOUR HEAD, it is sort of common sense.

Because people online .. you can make them how you want them to be. By reading their online messages, you have the ability to read it in an exciting manner, flirty manner, or however you like it. In a way, you create who that person is. In person, they are what they are and you just have to accept it.

We become attached to everyone we feel we have at least one thing in common with. That's why it hurts when they're gone.
