If you are comfortable taking public transportation and don't want to spend a lot of money, you can get to Lawrence without taking a cab. It's a bit complicated: you'll have to take the subway (take Airport stop on Blue Line to State, then switch to Orange Line to North Station). From North Station, there is a commuter rail line that runs Haverhill and Lawrence stop is on that line at 211 Merrimack Street. The subway costs $1.25 and the commuter rail about $4-$5.
There's also a commuter bus to Boston, the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit that runs Monday to Friday in the late afternoon, www.mvrta.com/NEWBOSTONBUS.pdf. It costs $5.
You can go to the Mass public transportation web site, the "T" at www.mbta.com

The train is definately the far better way to go. Taxis will be a rip off and although the train may take a bit longer, since it has to make stops, it is far more affordable.

It's $81.40, according to Massport's web site (link below).

If there's only one person traveling, you might want to consider the Flight Line van service to Lawrence for $49.

"Not that far"? Lawrence is about 45 mins (30.4 mi) from Logan!

I'm voting for the first answer.
