Much rather lie to everyone I meet than starve.

Funny thing about this question is that no one truly starves; they just don't recognize naturally food resources. But to answer the question; I'd rather starve than have to lie to everyone just to earn a paycheck.
Yet sometimes I feel that, working in Retail, I'm not living up to this. I have to subtly encourage people to buy more things, to increase sales. I don't know about the rest of you but it feels like lying to me.

Almost everyone working in Corporate America is willing to do the latter even if they won't admit the injustices to which they silently turn a blind-eye.

These are not the only alternatives. Keep looking for a job that allows you to function within your ethical boundaries. They are out there. Consider looking in the non-profit sector.

I'd starve.
Lying is a sin, and I would like to meet God and have Him happy about the way I lived my life.
