Feng shui is a belief system that originated in ancient China. Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of manipulating and arranging your surroundings to attract positive life energy, or chi, so that it flows smoothly, unblocking any obstructions in your body and environment. Feng Shui evolved from the theory that people are affected for better or worse by their surroundings.
All capital cities of China from at least the time of the Xia were built according to the rules of feng shui. Villages and houses were also constructed in accordance with the rules. Only within the last 25 years has the practice moved indoors and concentrated on interior design.
