First off, Judas Priest is on VH1 Classic right now, Classics in Concert...just started, on for another hour and a half. It has been on a bunch, but figured I would throw it out there.

"Hair band" metal was the music of our generation, right? Well, it was for me and all my friends. I still love it. Can't wait for the Poison/Cinderella concert coming up...love G'nR, Telsa, Skid Row, Crue, you name it, I dig it.

I never liked Judas Priest, don't know why, but now that I am removed from my younger days, I love it. I wonder if it is just because we are all so deprived of good rock'n roll music?

It's Friday night. I just rolled in to the crib. I got a nice drink in my hand, good tunes on the tv, and I am feeling my youth!

If you love the metal, are in a good mood, love life, are feeling it on a friday...sound off to me: concert memories, your bands, our generation, the love of "our" music, favorite tunes...why metal ruled the world!!!!

HIT ME!!

My first concert was Tesla and Firehouse. My 3rd concert was G'nR/Metallica at Arrowhead Stadium in the fall of '92. I was a freshman. WOW! Off the subject, but I say Widespread Panic last Wednesday on the opening show of their tour...not a hair band, but great music!!!

Memories...first concert I ever saw was Warrant/Trixter/Firehouse in the 8th grade. I miss all that long hair and make-up. I was never a Judas Priest fan either. But Poison, GnR, Skid Row...I loved it all and still do. It's a great Friday night, got a little buzz myself, and feeling good too. Thanks for reminding me!!!

First Metal Concert in 1989 MetallicA came to town. Being a huge metal fan starting in '81 with Ozzie. Accept, Motley Crue, Then in 83 I was introduced to MetallicA. No radio play or tv time by the time the concert came around we( my friends) and I were in a frenzy to see them. Being in the front row at an out venue watching the Cult warm up and seeing James behind the set for the first time gave me chills, then the high pitched / dynamic start of Blackened kicked in and fists everywhere, it was awesome. My ears literally rang for 11 days after that. Times have changed faves bands have changed, since then I have seen Slayer Megadeth, hatebreed, slip knot, morbid angel, god forbid,PanterA, White Zombie, Testament, Nu metallia, godsmack,Ramones, but I still say being 35 years old when those lights go down and those strobes start up, i am 18 for that moment....I need a good show this summer. its been a few years since I have a seen good show, Slayer later this summer and perhaps godsmack......come to Michigan

Hair bands were and are my favorite. I like the Crue, Poison, Warrant, GnR, and Skid Row. I saw the Crue in concert in March. I love VH1 classics. It's like watch Mtv where I was a teen.

First concert was the 'clash of titans' tour. Alice in Chains opened. Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer. Alice in Chains came out and signed autographs (even in the cheap seats), it was great.

Now I got a drink in my hand and feelin my youth too. Only got 2 things left to say about metal.

Megadeth is still my favorite band.

and Damn, I miss Dime.
