b20b block need resleeving?

i wanna put some forged aftermarket pistons + rods in jdm b20b. do i need to resleeve my block? i think compression for jdm b20b is like 9.2. i wanna get into the 10 range.

actually the b20b blocks are plenty strong for any naturally aspirated application. Getting the rods and pistons would still be a good idea to reduce rotating mass and put the compression where you want it. The compression on some b20b's are 8.8 or 9.6. The engines that have the 9.6 compression all have a knock sensor on the back of the block right above the oil filter. It is red in color. If your engine does not have this sensor, the compression in your engine is 8.8. If you are planning on doing a vtec head swap keep in mind that bumps the compression substancially. Also keep in mind to use at least 89 or 91 octane gas when you bump up your compression. If you plan to turbo or supercharger in the future keep your compression below 9. The b20b sleeves can handle around 300 wheel horsepower before they crack. When they do it is vertically on the top sidewalls of the cylinders. You will definatly not reach 300 wheel horses on a street tune b20 that is naturally aspirated. So you shouldn't have a problem.
