A cool metal band I just started listening to is Children of Bodom. I saw them with Slayer and Lamb of god. Check out their latest cd called Are You Dead Yet?
As for techno, latest I've been listening to is Ladytron.

Check out this band called Sam Black Church they were a hardcore band from Boston but I think they broke up they are all right and I dont even really care for rock type $hit
