Lying lets people feel like they have control, and when they've gained control, people think that they're pretty damn smart.

Cause nobody will tell them that they dont believe what they are saying... People lie all the time and think that because noone says anything, they got away with it.. All it means is that next time, they wont be asked to do something (especially if they actually want to)

I wonder that myself. When can remember to, later in a conversation in which I feel someone has lied to me I will make a coment like " just because I know someone lied to me I rarley call them a big fat liar, I think most liars dont even realize truthful people can always tell when they are being lied to, or didnt u know that"? A liar only hurts his own credibility.

My mom always told me never to lie because you always get caught and she was right. People think they are smart or they will hurt your fellings. They dont relize it hurts worse to lie to someone!

Because they know they have fooled the person. people that lie are just fooling themselves and will pay later down the road. i hate lying.

Well probably they think they are getting a way out of what they are lying about so they wont get caught or they wont feel left out or something

this applies to many more things too,it's our greatest weakness "In others i can clearly see,but always i am blind to me" we can never see ourselves-a reflection is also only an image as with video etc.So that's one of their personal blind spots- no matter how ridiculous, they genuinely cannot see what others see -no one can,think hard about it-on that score i'll be your eyes for a moment and help you see one of your blind spots- please go to guidelines scroll to bottom and read that list for me again,you may not be blind to it but you are letting yourself down, old chap.x

Because they honestly believe they are smarter than everyone else. In their minds, everyone else is too dumb to see the truth.
