I recently bought this laptop, and have experienced several shocks from it. When I was shocked, it was on and I was barefoot on a carpet while holding it. It felt like somewhere between an electric shock and static electricity. Is this normal? What could be causing this?

It means that it needs shock reducing. You canot have a laptop that doesnot shock you from time to time. Or just stay away from carpeting.

I thought Acer went out of business YEARS ago. I think what's causing it is the fact that your laptop is made by Acer. Everything I've ever seen that was made by them was junk.
