Betta's are fine being fed once a day. It's really not neccesary to feed them any more than that. It's a good idea to vary their diet. Mine get frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, frozen daphnia, and "Betta Bites" (pellet food). As for how much.... a few pellets, or a couple worms, or shrimp.....very little is fine. Bettas will naturally eat as much as you give them and then still act starving. The problem with feeding them more is that they will gorge themselves. The result of overfeeding can cause health problems such as swim bladder disease and bloating.

I feed mine once a day...use to be in the morning but I changed to doing it right before I go to bed now. They are smart and will adapt to whenever you decided to feed it. Just don't over feed it. They only need a small amount of pellets or whatever food it is you are feeding them daily. Too much food will cause too much waste in your tank which can kill the fish. And don't let the fact they always seem to be hungry fool you! Once a day is plenty enough food.

betta fish are one of the easiest fish to care for. I usually feed mine twice a day... morning & evening... 12 hours apart. If you have him in a vase, make sure you are using SPRING water... not distilled or drinking water. Also, they thrive in small areas. The flake food doesn't cloud the water as much as the pellet food. Plus, the pellet food makes the water STINK. Never put two betta's together... even male & female.. the males are too aggressive & will kill other fish.
Check w/ your petstore.. SOME fish are compatible w/ Bettas.
good luck. Good question!

Bets Splendens, or Siamese Fighting fish, do not need extenside feeding. once a day is suffice, and you can drop a "SLIVER' of raw meat the size of a 1/4 toothpick into the bowl, everyother day.

Depends on your food and what it reccomends. It should say on the package. Mine reccomends 4-8 pellets 2 times a day.
Problem is, I like feeding him to much so its more like 10 pellets 4 times a day. He hasn't died yet, so I think going too much is better than too little.
