If you mean brake wheel cylinders, the answer is no. Yes, they can make a noise, but not a type that would be normally described as a rattle.

Normal failure usually starts with noticing that the brake pedal goes lower to the floor when you press it, or noticing brake fluid on the ground or when performing other services.

A rattle sound could be a broken spring or other attaching part holding the brake pad or shoe in place.

Get it to a knowledgeable service technician before something very bad happens.

Brakes are the one area of a car that I wouldn't fool with if I didn't know exactly what I was doing.

Good luck - be safe.

No. Wheel cylinders are part of your hydraulic system. If a cylinder goes bad you will notice a drop in pedal height and spongy pedal feel

Not last time I checked, you may have a spring rolling around in there or a retainer. Best bet is pull the drums and have a look.

Sounds like maybe bad CV joints, have you considered this? Does it happen more when you are turning your vehicle? If so, it is probably this.
