I believe there is a small battery inside the CPU that you need to change, that will help.

If you set the clock and it keeps time until you shut off the computer and then turn it on the next day and it has gone back to default time, then the back-up battery needs replaced. There are two types, one is a lithium that looks like a long square box velcroed to the back apron (with a 2wire lead running to a socket on the mother board) and the other is a round cell about the size of a quarter and mounted on the board. Some of those solder in and some are like a watch battery, only bigger and clip in or have a small lever that holds it in and just turns out of the way to change it.

first you should check the backup battrey . it's cheap and you can test it by buy a new one ;)
( if your computer in not more than 5 years old .. it should works)
also you can test it this way :
unplug your hard disk drive.
after turning on enter setup and set date and time .
save the setting and exit bios setup
then turn off and unplug the power for about 10 min .
then re plug the power and turn on and check the time from bios setup again .
if it's right so it's a software problem.
so replug your hard disk and turn it on .
check this :

Maybe the motherboard's battery is dead. You can set windows to update the clock at specific times.

What you need to do is double click on the time, your date and time properties will open, then click on the time zone tab - the internet auto-updates our clock based on the time zone chosen - and choose the time zone you live in. If you don't want this auto-update then click on the internet time tab and remove the check mark from the auto-update option.

do you have the GMT / time zone set to the right zone? if so , then you probably do need to change the battery on the mother board.

Set it, and click OK
It should stay the same.
If your computer crashes, it will go back to what it was before you set it.

I asked the same question earlier. The second answer seems to have done the trick.
