You better believe it.
The more landscaped ares in cities and towns, the more oxygen and beauty to enjoy, which will, in turn, create people in better moods, give them ideas for their own yards, and instead of sitting at a traffic light getting mad, they would be admiring the flowers, etc. Of course, they may end being honked at........
I live in a town in East TN, and almost every corner is landscaped, and flower baskets and barrels are all along the streets. If they weren't there, it would be an awfully boring drive.
They also plant trees and decorate the baseball park, etc.

I am going to say no it isn't the cities responsibility I think citizens should create more green areas I also think people should get away from the cities and suburbs more to see the real green unmanicured real nature areas.

I think that it is both a cause that should be taken up by residents and town governments. Not only does more green area produce more oxygen and a pleasing aestetic, there are benefits that are linked to the amount of solar radiation that is reflected and obsorbed by urban building materials like concrete and steel as opposed to green areas.

Oh, most definitely & I think more flower gardens should be planted as well, to add that extra dash of color! Lots of people either don't have the time or the room for gardens, so this would be a way to enjoy themselves.

I have personally always felt that downtown areas, along with shopping malls, should all be bulldozed and made into parks!
