Yeah, they call them lawyers or attorneys. You can find a bunch in your neighborhood by looking in the phone book and most will meet with you once for free.

As to rental rights, many cities have a local tenant rights council that can answer your questions, often for free and some even provide legal representation for low income tenants with real problems.

In a search engine...such as, Yahoo....you can type in the state you reside and 'rental issues'. You will get a variety of sites that can lead you to your rights and landlord rights. In your area, there should be, attorneys that do 'pro bono' (or free) service - it all depends on your income. Depending on your issue, it may be best to discuss any issues with said landlord to come to an amicable resolution.
