i am working with windows XP home edition. my taskbar and start menu is missing with my particular user id. i tried to restore it with different user id. it is working fine but with my personal id it is missing. kindly suggest me how can i get it back. it is also happening that nothing is being showed when i use the right click button of my mouse. kindly give me some answer as i have a lot of documents with my id.i have tried everything from using the windows key to pressing ctrl+esc, but nothing is working.

This is kind of strange and hard to say without looking at what it's doing. I would say if you can, go to control panel, find system restore and execute. But before you do that, try pressing F11 with your browser open. Your PC might be in full screen mode and probably is why you cannot see the taskbar. Also check your desktop settings. On some PC's this hides all your icons including your taskbar. It's a feature available if you just want to see the wallpaper on your screen.

Most probably your account is corrupted. Scan your C drive using scan disk tool from other administrative account. If it don't work then don't try to recover it yourself. It may lost all of your data permanently. Contact for service or someone expert with computers.
