Tomarctus. Species in this genus are the first known members of the family we call Canines. From there, wolves, jackals, hyena... and, yes, dogs, evolve. The more modern (12,000 years ago) dog is more directly descended from the gray wolf (almost indistinguishable in the fossil record) and was domesticated and diversified after co-existance with man. The present day dog species are all a product of guided evolution - man has chosen the traits that it wants and bred for them. If this happened with man too, we don't know (interesting thought, though).

we technically didnt evolve from monkeys, there was an animal at one point, single celled or multicelled, not sure, anyway as it started to evolve it started changing, like on the branch of a tree, monkeys went on one "branch" of the split and we devoloped off the second "branch", the idea that we evolved from monkeys is a common misconseption and is widely accepted by the public but for thoes who went to college and took that class can tell you everything i just said and verify it, if you wish to discuss this matter in more detail e-mail me at dbgtxlog@yahoo, tht is for my friends and my colleguies, so pls no junk or spam

We evolved from ape like ancestors not monkeys.
Domestic dogs were selectively bred from old world wolves by humans.

Evolution of speices does not exist, in the terms that people think. Evolution defined as the adaptation of a spieces to their climate. Should you as a thin blood person from the southern climate move to a harsh, cold climate of the north. Your offspring would over generations produce children that is suitable to that climate, thick skin, thick blood, hairy body all to maintain heat to survive. To evolve from one spieces to another is not possible in human terms. Man was crated not evolved.

we r just humans not envolved from any other spicies
The dog must be envolved from a dog also (i don't think that they envolved from any other thing)

Well, supposedly wolves but that would be random chance however I'm a Christian and belive that God created us over some random thing. What would be the point of life if we were just random?

Actually since you are talking of evolution, they believe that all life came from a rock. But if you are talking creation, God created dogs, & it has come from some other breed of dog.
