This question has gone a week without an answer. Best advice is to hire the services of a licensed electrician for this job. This can be a dangerous job and can create a hazardous situation if it is done incorrectly.

It's a double throw switch. one side is disconnected when the other side is connected. At no time can either be connected at the same time. On some industrial applications there is a key lock. The key can not be removed unless the switch is in the off position. Then it can be removed to turn on the other switch. Other applications it is done by control logic systems. This is a critical area and only a Qualified professional should install it.

For safety sake, yours as well as your house and to insure it meets code call a professional. Electricity is not something armatures should mess with, especially at this level of difficulty.
