He was alive and ran the torch into the Olympic stadium in Seoul in 1988. Maybe he still is. Check SLOOC (Soeul Olympic Operating Committee) which was in charge of all things related to the 1988 Olympics - I was stationed at Yongsan at the time and got to watch the black Canadian, Ben Adams win a Gold in track (Later tasken away for steroids)

I've only found three references to this book on the internet, and none do more than mention it as his autobiography. There seems to be very little information out there other than what's on Wikipedia.

However, there do seem to be many reference books about the Berlin Olympics available, so perhaps scanning their indexes might prove useful to you in your quest.

The Nazi Olympics: Berlin 1936/ Susan Bachrach
The Nazi Olympics/ Richard Mandell
Hitler's Games: the 1936 Olympics/ Duff Hart-Davis

Hi Ken,

It's true that the Korean was forced to compete as a Japanese in the 1936 Olympics. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sohn_Kee-chung for more info.

Bye.

You can go to amazon books and type in My Motherland and Marathon, to see if they have it. Or you can phone a second hand book store in your area most good second hand book stores have unique books on hand good luck.
