Call a friend ahead of time and set up a system. Certain words means start crying and tell me you need me to be there for you and another word would mean things are going fine but keep in touch. That is how my friends and I do it. Sounds cheesy and rude and little kiddish but it works everytime. If things go wrong, give your girl the cue and start telling the guy about the problem. Most guys would just encourage you to be with your friend or want you to leave because he wouldn't want to listen to you yack about your girl things. Worth a shot at least. It's a win win situation in my eyes.

Um, you DON'T go back to his apartment. You sound kind of young and he must be older if he has his own apartment. Stick to public places for now until you two are serious and have gotten to know each other. If he doesn't accept your decision, make him take you home right away and don't see him again.

Try just wearing cellophane.
You can color it all different, pink, blue, purple, it's see through.
