There's no more glancing than with me and nothing more odd than me. Gosh, is it just fate, serendipity, or really love at first sight? For me, I do believe in love at first sight.
Prior to meeting my wife, I had never dated anyone in my life (23 then). Only came close twice (1st grade, and 7th grade) as in asked, but they were more on dares than real wanting to go out. FYI, both said NO.
I met my wife the first day at a new job. I was being introduced to everyone by the HR person that had interviewed me. When we finally went to the 13th floor to go to my work station, I saw this absolutely beautiful lady sitting at the corner workstation. I could not believe how beautiful she was. As we kept on walking and walking towards that general area, the only thing that went through my mind was "I hope I get to sit in that empty seat next to her." As fate would have it... I DID !!!
She turned out to be everything I was looking for in a girlfriend, beautiful face, beautiful body, lovely smile, spoke the same second language I did, was smart... only thing, she had a boyfriend in the company, which I didn't know until two weeks later...
Anyhow, to make a long long story not so much longer, her relationship was a bad one, so I waited it out for 15 months and we finally started dating. 6 years later, we got married, now another six years of marriage and two children and I'm still as much, if not more in love, with my wife...
I loved her from the moment I saw her when I turned that corner on the 13th floor... who says 13 is a bad number?

This answer is personal to me. I am married(7 years), me and my wife met thru a mutual friend earlier in 1990, we talked for six months over the phone, never seeing each other or just missing each other where she worked. The day before we agreed to meet for the first time I told her I would pick her up(what I would be wearing and where I would be standing). When we meet that day(Nov. 1,90) I knew I had to make her mine. The rest is history and three kids later we are still in love.

No You might fall in lust at that point, but love comes from getting to know the person and "loving" things about them and what they do and what they believe. That takes time.

I think it can and I beleive it happened to me...I didn't love the guy because of his looks, I mean I knew alot of guys that were way better looking than him, but there was just something about him that made me know that we'd be something more. Now, friends have contradicted the possibilty, and they provide good points, but I haven't changed my mind. I believe in it and it happened to me.

eh, it's lust at first sight (but screw it..it's fun as hell, right? right.) You had it happen to you, huh? Sometimes you just really click. I'm totally into going overboard tho.. I kind of look for it/compatability when it 'ain' there..' (I'm in love with love.) It hurts like hell .. I write somebody on here and think they're cool as hell then they just dump my *** (quit writing.. ******* cowards, men are..) and that sux royal, man! (sorry for all the bad language.. I'm more ladylike talking as a rule. I know they asterisk the **** outta me!)_

NO I DON'T. I'LL TELL YOU THO I DO BELIEVE THEY CAN BECOME INFATUATED OR EVEN OBSESSED WITH A PERSON AT FIRST GLANCE AND AN ODD CONVERSATION, THAT'S TOTALLY POSSIBLE. BUT WHEN YOU FALL INLOVE, I MEAN YOU FREAKING FALL INLOVE, THAT ENTAILS TOO MUCH TO JUST FALL AT FIRST SIGHT.

I have had this happen and seriously thought it was love. I don't think that's possible. I believe it's just chemistry and lust. I don't think you can honestly, whole-heartedly love someone until you really get to know them deep down.
