Would it be a negative thing if a girl doesn't wear makeup?

I'm already 21 and I don't and never cared much for makeup, only on special special occasions I'll wear eyeliner, but other than that, I don't wear it at all. I tweeze my eyebrows, shave and stuff like that (gotta feel sexy, ya know). But would it really be necessary to wear makeup? I'm asking cuz my co-workers asked me if I wear it, and now I feel shame cuz I don't. But they weren't rude about it. I'm just self-conscious about it now.

No, it definitely isn't a negative thing!! If you have a nice complexion and you don't need makeup then more power to you! My skin is awful so I wear makeup to hide my imperfections. If you feel pretty without it and only want to wear it for special occasions that is perfectly fine. So don't worry about what anyone else thinks!

What's important is your feelings toward wearing make-up. If you are happiest wearing no make-up or a minimal amount of make-up that's fine because that's your preference. Mabye if you want to give this make-up thing a go try going to a make-up store like Sephora and ask them if they could recommend some make-up for you and let them know that you are kinda new to the whole make-up thing. Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with not wearing make-up all of the time. Ususally I don't wear make-up to go to school or when hanging out with friends, they always tell me my make-up looks best when I am hardly wearing any at all. Bottom line do what makes you feel comfortable, that's what's most important. Good luck.

Don't be ashamed. If you look good natural dont worry girl. But in my opinion it would be really nice to treat yourself and put on makeup and not just an eyeliner. One makeup is done, hair is straightened, you wear nice clothes n heals you will see how much different you will look. Change is great. And once in a while wouldn't hurt to change your appearance which is towards the better. :)

i don't think so. i never wear any makeup when i'm at work or school, only when i go out. people sometimes say the same thing to me, but it's more like an observation then a put down. i think it's a good thing and it's better for your skin anyway.

I am 36 and I HATE makeup. I never wear it except for special occassions like Christmas parties or something like that. Who needs to put on clown stuff to look good. I have real issues with that btw....I think it is kind of like heels----created by men to keep women submissive. Men like___. so women feel the need to do it. Give me a break. Like me for me or get out.

I don't think it's negative at all. I wish i could leave the house without it, but it's become almost a security blanket for me! So I wouldn't feel shame if I were you- be proud of who you are. And besides, with all of the crap we put on our faces (and the tugging, buffing, and puling to put it in place and pull it off), in a few years, those of us who wear it will beg to look like you.

I can't speak for everybody, but I would much rather see "you" than a "cake face". Too many girls/ women wear way too much makeup. If your attractive without it, why mess around with it? Natural beauty is a great asset.

definately not a bad thing, you probably have better skin than peope who do wear it. and it simply says to me tat you are comfortable lookingthe way you are and don't need the help of cosmetics to 'pretty you up'. you rock!!

Remember that it's called "make-up" to make up for the natural beauty you don't have...really!

I wear pretty minimal make up, myself, and think that I look fresh and clean...not a bad look.
