Actually it varies depending on the state you were divorced in and the state you want to get remarried in. Simply look in the yellow pages under divorce lawyers...some will give you a 15 minute free consultation over the phone. Just ask them how long the waiting period is. If you are getting remarried to receive you US citizenship there is no reason to bring that up to anyone. Just tell them you simply fell in love with another person.

From the time you file you have to go court in six weeks. After court it takes 6 months to become final.

we don't have a waiting period here in America between marriages, you could get married here the same day your divorce or finalized.
