I assume you have seen a doctor since you have had mutiple tests. If you are not getting the right answers from your doctor then ask for a second opinion. Stress can cause missed periods, change in eating habits, illegal drug use, and other causes. also, when i came off the Depo Provera shots, i didn't get a period for a year!

It is completely natural for a women to miss her period like you have. The reason for that is simply because is just how you body is. Now if you don't have it for a longer time that 6 months I would recommend going to the doctor. There might be something medically wrong but don't worry.

The causes that come to mind now are stress, poor diet, endocrine gland troubles, morbid obesity and "other". What you are talking about is "secondary amenorrhea". If you look on Medline or Pubmed, you can find review papers about this problem and how the doctor should sort this out. That will give you an idea if you are getting the right htings done to investigate this.

I don't know how old you are, but it is common to miss a period or two in your teen years. In fact, some women NEVER have completely normal cycles. That doesn't mean you are pregnant.
My advice is that if you have been menstruating for more than five years, and miss more than two periods, I would see a doctor to make sure everything is copacetic down there.

You must weigh the cons of birth control. Here I got from a reputable Women's Health Center site:
The disadvantages include the following:
* There are long term health effects
* You must remember to take them daily.
* You may have nausea or spotting (or both) during the first month.
* Side effects can include headaches, depression or decreased libido.
* They provide no protection against sexually transmitted infections.

medications, increased stressed, some women are naturally irregular, I don't know your age but early menopause is a factor as well. You must get a second or third opinion because there has to be a reason why you missed your period.

I have heard that doing a lot of sports can cause missed periods. If you work out a lot it can stop your periods but it's not cause for alarm or unhealthy. Also some medications also can do that.

Period abnormalities can be due to many things including stress, weight gain/loss, thyroid, hormonal imbalance, medications, illness, infection, polyp, cyst, amongst other reasons. Your doctor should do further testing to determine what the exact cause may be.
