Trainspotting is Scottish, not English. I'm Canadian, and I got the whole thing, 100%.

Well, I saw the SCOTTISH movie, "Trainspotting," and did have a bit of difficulty at first. But I stayed with it and let my ears become attuned to the accents.

It's like anything - art, music - whatever. If you see or hear something that you don't understand right away, work at it. Stay with it. Maybe see or listen to it several times. Art takes investment.

added note: Yes, perhaps from an international point of view, British would include Scottish, Irish, etc. But I think you'd get a whack on the side of the head from a person from Scotland - and especially from Northern Ireland - if you referred to them as British.

It was tough at first, but I could understand most of it. It's actually Scottish dialect though, not English. Sounds a lot more gruff.

The first time around, I'd say about 70%. And most of it was towards the end of the movie, after my ears became acclimated to the accent.

Afterwards, 100%.

Yes, a very good movie about heroin addiction. I understood about 2/3 of the heavily accented talk.

I understood the language but I didn't understand the plot. Did it actually have one? If it did, I missed it.
