Other states do "same-sex unions" but not actual "mariages".

Mass. is the only state that considers gay marriage equal to straight marriage.
Gay people can get married in any state.

Massachusetts too. and California, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maine, New Jersey and Vermont give persons in same-sex unions a similar legal status.
