One pipe is shorter in length than the other. I need to join these 2 pipes at their ends. I need to know the length of pipe needed to join the 2 pipes at a 45 degree angle.

Take the length between the two pipes and take center to center times 1.143 and that will tell you the length. Sorry Plus the distance of a 45' angle. You also need to add the diameter of the pipe to this.

I agree with Ben. I think you need to know at least the diameter of the pipe.
