no it is NOT-why a chevy motor and ford rear end-or is this a rolling chasis you are thinking about, there is no sustitute for cubic inches use a 455 SUPER DUTY PONTIAC and a 12-bolt GM rear end with a posi or spool next WHY A POWER GLIDE and one with a 1.76 gear at that TH400 is WAY better, unless you already have one and are stuck with it.some of the things you say and the way you say them lead me to believe you dont know much about cars yet but are trying to learn-this is good ,just take it slow and find someone knoweledgable to learn from.find a successful racer (not some wannabe know it all punk) and hang around his pit and or garage ,if you are lucky he will let you WASH the car for free after you run and get coffee for him and his buddies, they will give you hell ,but this is PAYING YOUR DUES .when i was 14 my mentor yelled at me to put the racecar on the trailer after washing it-I WAS IN HEAVEN-you will be too .good luck-see you at the track

Like most amatures, just throw it all together and see what happens. TO answer your question I would need to know what you are setting it up fopr? Gasmilage? 1/4 mile? 1/8 mile? Show car? You never mentioned the camshaft, heads, rocker ratios. con rods. Are the connecting rods cheapo junk-muffins? Soft crankshaft? What kind of exhaust will you be running? Opened? Why do you need nitrous? Is your driveline built to handle it? Do you know enough about engines to build a better one so you don't need nitrous? What happens when the bottle is empty and some kid blows your doors off with his peddle bike, then how will you feel? I will give you my 2 cents that ain't worth a penny. It sounds like a good start to...something.

Too much compression for your NOS
your going to blow it

Now why would you want a PowerGlide tranny
Go with a beefed up turbo 350
you can get alot more performance gears and kits for the 350

29" slicks with the 5:13 gears

Try alittle smaller carb 780 Double Pumper
you can always rejet it and it's alittle cheaper, you could always resell it easier

See ya at the races

no,455 is the way to go with edelbrock heads, intake and ram air iv cam that will give you 467 hp and 457 flbs of torque with 10.50 compression stock. then put a muncie 4 speed behind it. It will blow your mind

I think a stock 1994 Honda civic would beat you in a 1/4 mile race.

I'm going with badmts, you're making your Pontiac everything but a Pontiac. Also, commas are your friends.
