Honestly - No one really knows why they get colic, or how to get rid of it. They tend to grow out of it at around 3 months. There is a book, "Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr. Harvey Karp that has some great simple solutions to help get your baby to stop crying. I highly recommend reading it. In the meantime, some things that help calm babies are:

swaddling tightly
swinging
loud white noise
sucking
lying on their side or stomach (just not to sleep that way)

Try one or all of those things, and I hope they help!

Babies can get colic for different reasons. Most of the time however it is just the diet you have them on. Colic is gas. Little Tummies gas drops will help 95% of the time. I know you don't want to hear that.

However you should take the lil one to your Dr. Some times it's not Colic, and it's acid reflux do to the flap in the bottom of the esophagus being to relaxed which is common in infants. This can also happen in adults as well.

If this is the case you will need to discuss a very specific diet with the infants pediatrician.

For adults you need to avoid things such as mint.

With infants you need to stick to things that you know will not cause excess gas. AND YOU NEED TO BURP THEM NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!

What is colic?
Colic is a broad term, which is defined by its symptoms rather than a particular cause. Colic is believed to affect about 20% of babies. A baby is described as having colic if her or she has episodes of uncontrollable, extended crying over three hours a day and at least three days a week. Every baby cries, but if your baby is otherwise healthy and well fed, then he or she may have colic. In general, babies start with colic around three weeks of age, getting its worse at around six weeks of age and then usually stopping around three months of age.

The exact cause of colic is still unknown but there are many theories on why a baby might have colic. Many believe that colic is caused from an immature digestive system. Since there is no factual evidence on what the exact cause of colic is, there is no one easy solution to help parents ease or comfort their baby through an episode of crying.

Although colic can be extremely distressing for both you and your child, you can take comfort in the fact that it's not permanent. In fact, in a matter of weeks, when your baby is happier and sleeping better, you'll have weathered one of the first major challenges of parenthood.

Keep your baby in motion. Gently rock your baby in your arms or in an infant swing. Or lay your baby tummy down on your knees and then sway your knees slowly. Take a walk with your baby, or go for a drive with your baby in an infant car seat.
try running a vacuum cleaner it helps..

most babies that have colic suffer with acid reflux and it needs to be treated by their doctor with medication. Once they are put on medication symptoms usually disappear within a few weeks and they out grow it by one year of age

My son had it really bad and we tried it all! Nothing worked. He just screamed until he seemed to outgrow it in a few months. I nearly lost my mind, but he turned out fine, so try anything and then try to relax.

Actually, our doctor said that I should try wine. For me. Not the baby! It helped.
