I don't think the word "strangers" should even come into play. They're fellow human beings, with a right to live.
I can't honestly say that throwing myself on it would be the first option to even come to mind, but for the sake of the question, we'll say it does.
Yes, I would throw myself on it in an attempt to save as many people in the room as possible. Yes, some of them will likely be hurt anyway, and some of them will likely end up with bits of me all over them. But they'd probably be alive, and that would be the major objective.
Like Spock said, "the good of the one or the good of the many?"
Why should all of us die when there is a possibility that only one would have to? There is no reason (or time, in that case, to think of one) why that one shouldn't be me.
There would be no glory in it, at least that the dead one would be around to revel in, so it comes down to being a moral decision.

Well it depends on the scenario. If I were standing in a room full of strangers in which there was a live grenade that would easily kill everyone in there including myself, then I would honestly like to think I would jump on it. Hell, its either you all die or you die and some people live on. Either way your dead so might as well do as much good as you can, right?

NO...sorry to them, but i don't know them....now i wouldn't push a woman or child in harm's way, but i ain't jumping on a live grenade either....

in a room with lots of children maybe, but chances are better that I'd push the nearest man onto it first.

no way, I'm pretty small, it would still kill everyone, they would just have my body parts all over them too
