I love fall out boy,its my all time fav band.But all my friends think my chemical romance is better.Whats the difference!? They almost have the same exact music exept my chemical romance thinks there better so i was wondering what u think the differences are?

fall out boy isnt as "gothic" as mcr, mcr has more death oriented lyrics and fall out boy doesnt and the main differnce is that fall out boy is better

To me, there is a huge difference. I don't really like Fall Out Boy, but I respect them as a band. Anyway, My Chemical Romance calls themselves pop but they are darker and although both bands are catchy, Fall Out Boy's music is more about I guess you could say "lighter" things. And My Chemical Romance writes about gang rape and murder in their songs. My Point: My Chemical Romance has darker lyrics and they are not the same band at all. My Chemical Romance's singles are lighter than the rest of the album, and Fall Out Boy's singles are just as upbeat as the rest of the album.

Wow, um....I think it's a lot easier for you to tell the difference between MCR and FOB when you have listened to both bands' music more often. Plus, I don't think that it's MCR themselves who think that they are better than FOB, it might just be your friends and other outspoken fans.
Personally, I think that the subject matter in both bands' lyrics is very different. MCR's lyrics are darker and a bit different from what bands usually talk about in their music. They're quite fierce with what they say....they don't care if they offend anyone who isn't into the taboo stuff that they talk about. And, um, I don't know FOB's lyrics as well, but they seem more mainstream (for lack of a better word)---they talk about dancing and being with a girl and....erm...high school stuff.
Another thing is that the members of Fall Out Boy...well...have always seemed kind of like they adjusted poorly to their sudden rise to fame....with Pete Wentz and others exposing themselves on the internet (however, i could be wrong...I think Mr. Wentz said at one point that it was just an accident)...and, well, many people have said how cool the members of My Chemical Romance have been, in spite of their moderately quick rise to fame. Also, the members of MCR have stressed their want of having a positive influence on their fans, despite some of the taboo subjects in their lyrics.
Also, in many people's opinions, FOB's various cds are better than their live performances, while many people think that MCR's live performances are better than their various cds.
Finally, both of the bands have (extremely) different styles and influences on the music that they make. I kind of think that FOB has more of a pop/punk background, while MCR has more of a metal/old school punk/british rock background.
I really hope that you have found my answer useful, and I hope you don't mind my bias towards My Chemical Romance and my slight lack of knowledge of Fall Out Boy.

My Chemical Romance is better in my opinon.
They have more challenging music to play, in my opinon. The difference is Fall Out Boy is very popish and My Chemical Romance will allways have its rock edge because most of their songs are about death.

My Chemical Romance is "darker" that Fall Out Boy.
Fall Out Boy has "Dance Dance", while My Chemical Romance has dead people dancing on their videos.

My chemical romance is better. My chemical romance has saved a few lives including Gerard way from mcr.

They are both different
WAY different
MCR is a bit more morbid and dark but that's ok!
And fall out boy is more about the sadder, not morbid or gory things in life.
like enemys, cutting, Breaking up with people, relationships, and Ditching people.

Well fall ut boys is a little more romantic and the girls and stuff as My Chem. Ro. is more on the darker morbid side of things
