So many of the apples here seem not to have much flavor. Maybe it is where they come from or the type of apple. The one green apple tree that grows in my yard has pretty nice apples, but so many apples out there in the market place, just don't seem to cut it.

Supermarkets usually have a limited selection of apple varieties for sale. A better bet would be produce markets or farmers markets. My all time favorite apple is McIntosh. It is a commonly available variety and has a nice tartness to balance the sweetness and is firm fleshed.

Good luck with your search for the perfect apple.

Go to your maket and ask for "FUGI" apples. They are the best for eating for snacks. Keep them in the frig.

Have you tried Gala apples? They're one of my favorites.
