No cause even adults make mistakes. If a child makes a mistake just tell them the right way. Cause if u punish a child they'll never learn to not make the mistake

That's a broad question. What kind of mistakes? If a kid burns down the house, I think he deserves to be punished because he shouldn't have been smoking or playing with matches in the first place. If a kid burns down the house because the electrical appliance he was using overheated, then of course he should not be punished. Some mistakes stem from doing bad things, others just happen out of the blue.

No, you should take the opportunity to explain how it was a mistake and teach the child the correct behavior. Be very specific about the behavior and the consequences. Only apply discipline if the child continually makes the same mistake.

depends on your form of punishment? Time out, or taking something away, also depends on the mistake. Sometimes just talking to the child is most effective!

Disciplined-which means to teach, but not punished. Punishment does not teach, and it does not change behavior. It only makes a child resentful. There is a very good book on the subject called Love and Logic.

I guess it depends what the mistake is, how old the child is, and wether he should have known better. but I don't think a child should be punished for mistakes, that how one learns.

There are two kinds of mistakes.
Stupid and Dumb.
Let me illuminate...
If your in a house you were never in before and you walk into a wall and hit your head, that was dumb. Learn from your mistake.
If you go into that same house and walk into the same wall and hit your head, that was stupid. You're not learning.
I think the key here is to shed light on the dumb mistakes kids make so they can learn clearly from them. When a child is still not learning from the same mistake, it's time to ask the child what outcome are they hoping for, because what they are doing is not working.
Disobedience is a WHOLE 'nother kettle of fish.

It depends on the mistake and the age of the child. We learn from our mistakes. Babies and infants don't know right from wrong yet.

Mistakes are for teaching. Punishment is for misbehavior.
