ipods in general are rip-offs... ive heard so many complaints about them.
they are way too overated. i have a sony mp3 player and it holds more songs, looks better and has a much longer battery life. you should look around at the different types.

The best iPod on the market currently is the iPod Nano. My reasons are simple.
1. The iPod Video has a hard drive in it. The Nano and Shuffle has a flash drive. The Video models hard-drive would skip a lot if you we're to run or shake the iPod. This is because hard drives have moving parts that need to keep moving in order to perform. So when you run, you can sometimes stop the moving parts. With the nano or shuffle, which has flash drives, there are no moving parts, which creates a no-skip MP3 player! Also, the nano has a lot more products created for it. Including the Nano only Nike + iPod intergration which you can read about here http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike
2. But at the same time, a 4GB nano (1,000 songs) is $249 and a 30GB (7,500 songs) iPod Video. So for $50 more you get 26 extra GB. So Apple expects you to pay for the premium of a smaller, but way cooler product. The Shuffle is $69 for 120 songs, and $99 for 240 songs. Because they don't hold as many songs, and they have no screen.
So to sum it up...
For Cost: More economic to buy iPod Video or Shuffle
For Functionality: iPod Nano
For Song Capacity: iPod Video
So it's a 50/50, but I recommend the iPod Nano!

I'd love to answer the G4. Man, I loved that iPod. Before everything went crazy. And you got a good deal for your money.
Now I own a video 30gb. It's fairly good. Gets kind of slow from time to time - slightly. Like when resuming a song after a while, sometimes video gets ahead of audio (I hate that).
I'm just trying to say. Nothing is perfect, everything has flaws. You have to decide if you can live with them. I can, I mean these things I mentioned don't happen all the time.

That depends on your needs. If you want to use it while jogging, the iPod Shuffle is water resistant and you don't have to worry about breaking the LCD screen. The Shuffle plays the songs in random order, but you can skip past songs you don't want to hear. If you still want your iPod to be small, but you want more control, consider the Nano. For the most storage capacity, get a regular iPod.

None, beause they are all overated and overpriced, maybe you should try looking at something other than an Ipod, just beause someone else says they are cool doesnt mean they are, and they arent.
