thats funny, how people always take things and twit them into havng a graphic or sexual nature..
but, in todays world, especially on the internet, thats the mentality..
If your wife has asthma, and you must adopt a cat..
get a hairless breed.
They exist and should not cause her any breathing or allergy problems at all..

Tell her the cat will be an outdoor cat and start there. Say, if her asthma starts to get worse with the cat, then you'll get rid of it. But, if her asthma doesn't get worse, the cat can stay. Visit the American Lung Association and read a little bit about what triggers asthma and the difference between asthma and hay fever, etc.

I like pussycats!
If you bathe the cat frequently it will cut down on his dander and be easier on your wife's asthma. Your wife might want to take daily allergy medication such as clariten too.
It might not work out though. If being around the cat makes your wife sick you just might have to find another home for the kitty.

I too have asthma & I love cats! Your best bet is get her a strictly indoor kitten & see how she does. I'm okay with SOME cats. Cats are really clean & if it doesn't go out, it'll have on it what is already in your home. I do have a severe case of asthma & as I said... I'm okay with some.
Good Luck to you & her!

Why not use the word kitten or cat? You know pussycat can be misinterpreted, why are you surprised people laugh or wonder what you mean... pussycat is a dumb word.... use CAT!
