I am moving to the Phoenix area soon.
How do I find out which schools are good elementary schools so I can move to the right neighborhood?
How do I check crime in the areas too.
I can move to Mesa,AZ also.

I came across this site. I'm not sure that it's what you're looking for, but you can give it a shot. Basically I would say stay away from the downtown Phoenix area because it's a little rundown. For all of my schooling I was in the Deer Valley District. There is an elementary school that is actually in a neighborhood, it's called Paseo Hills Elementary. It's a decent neighborhood and I see houses for sale all the time there. Plus the Deer Valley location is very convenient because the Loop 101 and the I-17 are right there (both just a mile or 2 away from Paseo Hills). If you have children, there is also a middle school about a mile or so away from Paseo Hills, called Deer Valley Middle, and a high school right next to that, Barry Goldwater High. I've also heard that the Peoria School district is pretty good and (I think) someone also told me that they pay a little more for teachers. Good luck, and I hope you don't mind the heat! (108 today!)

Here's also a place you can look up crime rates. To find the area that I'm talking about (Deer Valley) you can type in area code 85027. Look for the intersection of Deer Valley Rd and 35th Avenue. Paseo Hills is in the neighborhood that is north of Deer Valley and east of 35th Avenue.

Find a site or sites that will tell you what the names of the school districts in Phoenix, Peoria, Glendale, Mesa, Scottsdale, and Tempe are (plus any other city's that you're interested in). Ask the District Headquarters for their published reports on school quality and results. (Such as how students do on Standardized Tests, etc..)
Check with the Phoenix Police Department and see if they will tell you how to find out about the crime rates in various neighborhoods.
You're going to have to do some research and put out some effort but this information is available if you really want it.

You should know that there are three separate serial killers hovering about in the Phoenix area right now. Type crime in Phoenix into your toolbar....

Go to their state department website and look at current test data. There is lots of useful information on this website. Most school corportations also include community information and real estate information that you can take directly to a realtor.
