Are there any scuba divers out there that can give any advice?

well if you dive...you need to find out of what you are interested in. the main catagories are usually
WRECK dive in the great lakes, the orkney islands which is in scottland, and the pasific for WWII wrecks.
REEFS dive in the carribean, or any reef filled islands or coasts
DEEP dive anywhere off about a mile or 2 from shore or in the great lakes
those are the main types.

yeah. my advice is rent the equipment before buying and take a class so you know what your doing. you can die in a few feet of water if you dont know what your doing. get certified. you'll love it your whole life. when you travel and decide to dive, your already prepared.

Hello, Get PADI Certified. Allways dive with a buddy and STAY CLOSE and in eyesight of one another.
