My friend and her friend (who I don't know) and me went out to Coldstone. Her friend, Peter, asked me to go to the beach with them. I said "I dont' want to intrude." He said, "You did when you came with us." (They invited me and I paid for their ice cream!) So i went home and IMed my friend and told her that her friend said that to me. She said, "You heard wrong." I said, "he said it to my face." She said, "Stop lying. If you don't want to go to the beach, just say so." So now she's mad at me. But it's not my fault. I didn't lie. now I'm pissed that she didn't believe me. What should I do?

Obviously something else is eating away at your friend! Most likely she believed you and its something else thats eating her. I'd say just let it go. Things aren't always 100% perfect..... apologize that you didn't go and tell her you honestly thought that they wanted some time alone. The majority of broken friendships are broken because of miscommunication. Talk it through and move on. Go do something fun together and you'll both forget this incident.

I think maybe this isn't a very good friend, and the other ones who accused you of intruding (by innuendo) aren't very nice either. Maybe it is time to find new friends, as "real" friends don't accuse their freinds of lying.

I hope this isn't your best friend. This girl sounds like she has some problems and maybe you should back off for a while 'til she gets herself together. May while she's gone you realize you don't need the drama.

try talking to her, not IM her,and tell her how you feel. if she is a true friend she will listen. don't make her choose you over her other friend, just wait and see who she chooses, if she is a true friend she will see your side of this and choose you. take care
