Just be sure to read all the details about the item you are buying and make sure that it's what you want. One of my friends made the mistake of not reading carefully and bought a cell phone case when he thought he was buying a cell phone. Also check all costs carefully. Sometimes you may think you are getting a great deal on the item but the seller has actually really overpriced the shipping fees. Anyway, also check the seller's past history. Does he/she have a good rating from other past buyers? Has he/she sold other things before? As long as you are careful, everything should go fine.

Yes ebay is actually a very reliable site to buy items from. Of course, I wouldn't buy a huge thing like a car or something along those likes. I bought a special remote for $140 on there and I was nervous spending so much money online but since then I have bought many items and I've never had any problems! Be sure to look at the price of shipping and handling though because if you're buying a cheap item, some users try to jip you by over-charging you for shipping!
Happy Ebay-Buying!

EBay is a great place to buy just about anything that's legal. I've bought and sold literally hundreds of items and have never been ripped off. The level of customer service you receive and the quality of the product may very and that's where you need to do your homework.
As a general rule, only but from sellers that have a good amount of feedback (say 100 plus transactions) with a good feed back rating (99% or better).
You do need to be careful when purchasing brand name clothing because many sellers deal in counterfeit items (e.g. brand name shirts and jeans).
EBay is by nature a buyer beware environment, but the vast majority of sellers are completely on the level and offer great items and great prices. Just make sure you do the basic research (stated above) on any seller you plan to buy from.
Hope this helps.

Oh yes, I have been dealing with sellers on ebay for a long time. I had one problem with one seller, other than that never a problem. If you pay using PayPal, they also have a buyer protection plan. Ebay has guidelines to follow if you don't get your item. Check out sellers feedback to see if they can be trusted as well. Good luck!!!

I buy things off eBay regularly and have never had a problem. When considering a purchase, check the seller's feedback. Try to buy from sellers who have lots of feedback with relatively few complaints. If you buy something and are not satisfied, try to work it out with the seller before posting bad feedback or reporting them to eBay. If you're satisfied, leave good feedback so the next buyer knows the seller is trustworthy.

Check the seller's feedback score and comments, and be sure to also check the shipping & handling cost, because that is an amount set by the Seller. For example, a $10 item can cost an additional $10 for shipping and handling, so your $10 item is really costing you $20.

It fun to buy things off ebay. if you pay you will get your item. make sure to check the person's feedback to make sure they are not a slow shipper.
if you don't get your stuff then you can contact the seller and if they are professional you will get your money back. if you use paypal i think you can file a complaint and get your money back.
i have been on ebay for a year now and i have always gotten my stuff(and its been a lot of stuff).
one thing to be careful of is the description of a product. read it carefully.

when you bid on an item you are entering a legal binding contract saying you have to pay and they have to give you the product. yes like they said above make sure you read all the detail and look at the pictures carefully, you can even email the seller with questions or ask for more pictures.

I used EBay once and it was a disaster.
Since then I only buy direct from stores that have on line shopping like Marshal Fields.

Most sellers on ebay are pretty good, check their ratings and feed back and that'll be a good way to check their history and reputation
