I don't know the whole story I'm sure so I can't really give you the answer you need. He might be hurt, but I bet you are too since you're taking the time to bring it up here. I wonder why you told him goodbye if you love him. Anyway, here's some kleenex and a HUG. Sometimes crying is good - it cleanses. So have yourself a good cry and it'll all work itself out.

Sometimes people hear what they want to hear or sometimes hear something totally different than what you said. That doesn't mean you are at fault either. That could be the case or this person could just be a jerk and picks at anything you say to try and get you to stop talking to them or being around them. Be confident in yourself to know that you are special and that if he doesn't care for you then it's his loss not yours.
If you really care and want to know then sometime just say to him, look if you don't want to hear from me, like me, or talk to me that's fine tell me but don't go thinking I've said something to you or cursed you when I haven't.

No, it's just his really twisted sense of humor.
My dad used to do stuff like that all the time.
Like we'd be at a restaurant and at the end of the meal if the waitress asked if we'd like anything else my dad would say :"No." So, when she would return with the check he'd look at her dead in the eyes and say "I told you we didn't want anything else."
Granted he'd give it second or two to set in, then he'd crack his disarming smile. And everyone would have a good laugh, but the split second he does say it he sounds like he's going to rip her head off. It's actually frightening to see.

Sounds like someone who is bipolar, or an asshole, possibly both. Yeah, a bipolar asshole is what that person is.

I'd take that as him being a jerk! Don't cry one more tear for him! He's not even worth it!
