It depends on the model and type of suspension. To lower the front end, raise the fork tubes in the triple clamps. For the rear you can either adjust the linkage or replace it with a lowering linkage. Check some of the online sportbike sites. Be careful though - when you lower the bike you will change the stearing geometry and the handling characteristics. If you only need a little more room, you can take the seat apart and shave some of the foam off of it.

Along with adjusting the preload and linkages, you can also consider shaving the seat. Most bikes have plenty of cushioning so shaving off a couple inches of foam won't affect comfort too much. It'll also retain the handling features of the bike.

Be aware if you do end up lowering the bike by messing with the linkages, you'll likely need to cut and reweld your sidestand otherwise it'll be too long.

You can also get different sizes of dogbones, which isn't too expensive but can definitely affect the handling of the bike. It depends on how much you need to lower it.
