contrary to most of the answers i liked star and still do - i admire the many changes she went thru - it is not easy no matter how you go about losing weight to do so - she did change alot and i am happy for her - she was enormous before - it was sad to see that - i am happy she also found someone to love. i watch the view regularly and enjoy it - you could see for awhile that something was wrong - for like the last 2 or 3 months - which would coincide with when Star says she was told she wouldnt be re - signing a contract, as opposed to the network's position that she was told in nov. at any rate i hope they can all get over it and put together a great show for the fall. ( by that i dont mean that Star will be back in the fall). I think it is going to be humerous to see Rosie interact with Elizabeth who is sooo conservative . I will miss both Star and Meredith - i absolutely adored Meredith - she was so much fun and a smart woman as well.

From what I gather, Star Jones wasn't fired. She was let go for the next season. Star Jones however, took it the wrong way and acted like her leaving the show was some sort of surprise. "Supposedly" she knew she wouldn't be a part of The View next season, for a while. I think that Star Jones went about telling the public that her contract was not renewed in the wrong way. I think that she's blowing up the situation and just stirring up trouble (maybe for publicity).

I never liked The View. It's just watching a bunch of women talking over each other. Star Jones will probably end up on a reality show.

Star Jones didn't get fired. Her contract was not renewed. After she made a surprise statement on air that embarrassed Barbara Walters, she was told by the producers that would be her last show (she had one other to air).

unfortunate. I used to enjoy the "hot topics" segment. I thinks Star brought some ethnic flavor to the show. I'm sure she will end up on top and The View will probably get cancelled next season.

I use to think she was the smartest person on the show, but she has changed over the years and became annoying. Now that she's famous she'll get another job but she should go back to practing law.

I think that she will get another job if it is far, far away from Barbara Walters and Rosie O' Donnell--not to mention E! Entertainment! She has burned a lot of bridges--wow--Celebrity Fit Club, anyone?

There were obviously problems for sometime, but I think the way she handled it was lacking in dignity and self-respect, so it will damage her chances of getting another job in the industry.

She did not get fired, so she wanted to leave "The View" because of her personal reason. As you know that she used to be fat back then and now she is thin!

Hey if her ratings were down, she needed to be fired. I heard that she wanted to do her own talk show. Realistically, what makes her think that she will be successful with her own talk show if her ratings were down on The View
