As crazy as it seems.. they probably should be searching all fishing boats and every other kind of boat for drugs. The drugs are getting here somehow.. Should be checking all planes more carefullly too.

By my understanding of Maritime Law, ANY vessel entering US Waters or that is in US Waters can and will be searched by USCG,(any Federal Authority), any State Agency, any County Agency, Parish,County Agency, Dept of Wildlife, Dept of Environmental Protection, list goes on and on. My Sailboat has been boarded and searched about 9 times in the last 2 years, 23 years of Sailing before that and nothing to report. Long as the Gov is feeding us on fear, well we get what we elect.

searching ALL is impractical, but searching a percentage (say 5% to 10%) would be more manageable. It would take a lot of money to do even that though.

The U.S. should search everything that carries anything and docks at our shores. It is too bad but the world has become such a dangerous place that everything should be searched.

It would be a good idea but I don't know how they'd do that.
